The European and the North American closed qualifiers for StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 4 have started

From January 29 to February 3, Europe and North America will host closed qualifiers for StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 4. Eight teams from both regions will compete for two spots in Kyiv, where the main event with $300,000 prize pool will take place at the Kyiv Cybersport Arena on the 17-25th of February.

Sixteen teams will fight for the prize fund. The team that wins the first place will gain $125,000 from the total fund.

Eight teams will play in the Single-Elimination, Best-of-three bracket. Two best teams will receive spots in the main stage of StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 4. The Chinese team TyLoo and the South Korean team MVP PK have already taken two Asian spots.

This year, organizers use the Swiss system for the first time, a new format for the LAN final that implies Best-of-three matches. It is an experiment but StarLadder expects that the format will become common for tournaments in 2018.

Teams invited to the competition by organizers:

  • Natus Vincere (Ukraine);
  • Gambit Esports (Kazakhstan);
  • Cloud9 (the USA);
  • G2 Esports (France);
  • Mousesports (European Union);
  • SK Gaming (Brazil);
  • Astralis (Denmark);
  • FaZe Clan (European Union);
  • Fnatic (Sweden);
  • Virtus.pro (Poland).
