The sale of tickets to the Kiev Major turned into the Internet meme
On February 22, at 10 a.m. Karabas started the record-breaking sale of tickets to the tournament The Kiev Major. Representatives of the ticket agency officially announced that tickets for all 4 days were sold out within 20 minutes. In addition, it was virtually impossible to order ticket on the website because it wasn’t designed for such a load of users. Instead of completing the order the website informed about the error or technical activities.
It is noteworthy that most tickets were bought in land-based Karabas box offices in Kiev and there was no limit on the number of tickets one can buy. Fans are actively discussing photos and posts informing about purchase up to 50 tickets by one person. There are even appeals to physically punish ticket touts, resell all tickets from scratch or relocate the tournament.
Speakers and visitors of eSPORTconf Ukraine 2017 which was held on the same day also discussed this problem. Valve and PGL haven’t made any comments on it yet.back to list
