WESG 2017 prize pool is announced - $ 4 million
The multidisciplinary WESG 2017 World Tournament has had a format update. Now, in two of the four disciplines - Hearthstone and CS:GO – female national teams will be playing alongside mail ones. The choice is wider for male players, Dota 2 and StarCraft 2 championships will be held as well.
The championship will begin with a qualifying series, that will include five regional tournaments - in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and separately in China. Before getting to regional finals, players will have to win the national competitions.
The grand finale, where the qualified national teams will play, is scheduled for March 2018.
The announced prize fund is impressive - almost $ 4 million. $ 202,800 of which, will go to the American qualifier finals, $ 279,800 - European. The rest will be split among the grand finale winners, so that the winners of CS:GO and Dota 2 in men's division tournaments will get $ 800,000 each.
A total of 72 team slots in the Dota 2 and CS:GO disciplines (including 8 teams of the women's division) is played for in the WESG 2017 final games. The number of slots for StarCraft 2 and Hearthstone players is the same.
StarLadder will be the organizer of qualifiers in European and American subregions as well as regional finals, with the exception of subregional qualifiers in Russian, Iberia and Benelux - their organizers will be U CAN COMPANY (UCC), Baskonia Group and Blammo Media B.V. & SEG Esports B.V. respectively.back to list
