Ukraine has won the fourth group match in a row at Hearthstone Global Games
Yesterday’s match between the Ukrainian and Czech teams at Hearthstone Global Games was truly epic. The tension was building up until the last seconds when Nikolai “NickChipper” Velichko gained a decisive victory providing his team with undeniable leadership in Group H and the best results among all teams up to date.
NickChipper was also the first Ukrainian player to compete and his Warrior quickly beat the CzechCloud’s Paladin, having opened the scoring. Yevgeniy “Neirea” Shumilin won the Rogue vs. Rogue battle, and that game didn’t last long as well. With such an impressive start, fans started to believe that a clear win 3:0 is possible, but further the situation changed.
The loss of Artem “DrHippi” Kravets in the Mage vs. Mage battle was a painful surprise, but it added some excitement to the game. When Paladin of Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh lost to the rival’s Hunter in the next game, the atmosphere was getting really tense. It should be noted that those two battles lasted much longer than the previous.
The last battle was the longest, the most strenuous, uneven and emotional. Nikolai’s Druid was close to death many times, but thanks to a fortuitous combination of circumstances and player’s skills, he killed the opponent’s Warrior.
Nikolai Velichko was an undoubted hero of the match. Just as easily and freely he managed to open the competition, so difficult it was for him to finish it, keeping the victory.
However, now Ukraine’s ratio of victories and losses is 4:0, the result obtained only by one more participant, namely the US national team, up to now. Nonetheless, Americans show worse results: they won 12 and lost 5 games, whereas Ukrainians – 12 and 4 respectively.back to list
