Results of the main eSports events of the last week (3-9 of July)

Last week (3-9 of July), many interesting e-sports events took place. Let’s review several smash-hit tournaments in popular e-sports disciplines, their winners, and prize funds.

Dota 2

Mars Dota 2 League (MDL) 2017 was held on 7-9 of July. Its prize fund equaled to $250 thousand. LGD Gaming team became the winner, earning $112.5 thousand. Another Dota 2 team of the same Chinese organization, LGD.FY, took the second place. It received $50000.


The largest CS:GO tournament of the week was ESL One: Cologne 2017. It took place on 4-9 of July. Ukrainian club Natus Vincere qualified for the semifinal, earning $20 thousand. The winners – SK Gaming team – won $100 thousand, and Cloud9 received $40 thousand for the second place. The total prize fund of the tournament comprised $250 thousand.

By the way, thanks to the tournament results, Na'Vi players were rated four positions higher in the rating of Currently, they occupy the sixth position.


Hearthstone discipline has been especially active lately. The second stage of Hearthstone Global Games ended last week, and the third stage started this week. Ukrainians managed to go through the previous stage, but they will still have to fight for the right to participate in the Grand Final.

However, there are results of another tournament – HCT Spring Championship 2017 with the total fund of $250 thousand. A player from Denmark, Frederik “Hoej” Nielsen, obtained the victory. Ukrainian players also did their best.

The sum of winnings received by Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh ($40 thousand) for the second place and Yevgeniy “Neirea” Shumilin ($20 thousand) for the fourth place equals to the winnings of Hoej – $60 thousand.
